Programme Overview

This programme explores how organisations protect information, systems and users against a range of digital security threats. The curriculum examines security architecture, networks, cryptography, incident response, risk and governance, linking conceptual study with current questions in responsible protection of digital assets and services.

Technical and scenario-based activities develop your ability to identify vulnerabilities, interpret evidence and recommend proportionate security controls. You will work through guided activities, applied scenarios and peer discussion, developing a disciplined approach to evidence, communication and independent work.

The curriculum treats cyber security as a socio-technical discipline, combining technical knowledge with legal, ethical and organisational awareness. Learning is organised for online participation, with clear milestones, tutor feedback and space to connect ideas across the programme. Throughout, opportunities to compare perspectives and receive formative feedback help consolidate your understanding, refine your judgement and prepare you to engage confidently with unfamiliar professional challenges. The final stage invites you to bring your learning together in a sustained piece of work.
